8/30 : Wednesday Reflection
Jesus asks his disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answers, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”. Jesus replies, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father”. Matt. 16:15
Our faith must be more than just an intellectual acknowledgement of Jesus. We must recognize Him as the Son of the living God, the Messiah who saves us from sin and death. This recognition of who Jesus helps us to actively participate in the mission of the Church, sharing the Good News with others, and being witness to God’s love. It equally enables us to embrace the challenges that come our way, knowing that Christ is always with us, guiding and empowering us.
In what ways can you actively participate as a disciple of Jesus Christ? What are ways we can show God’s love and mercy to the world?
Prayer: Holy Spirit, renew our hearts and strengthen our resolve to be true disciples of Jesus Christ. Help us to bring His love and mercy into the world through our words and actions, making disciples of all nations. Amen.
