10/18: Wednesday Reflection

But when the king came in to meet the guests, he saw a man there not dressed in a wedding garment. The king said to him, “My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding garment?” But he was reduced to silence. Then the kind said to his attendants, ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’ Many are invited, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22: 11 – 13

The parable of the wedding invitation teaches that we must be active stewards in the Church. Accepting God’s invitation is a precious gift that we should never take for granted. There are no half-measures in His Kingdom.

How can we be active stewards in the Church?

Lord Jesus Christ, help us with your grace to be grateful for your generous invitation to be a part of your kingdom. Help us always to respond appropriately and to be genuine disciples of your kingdom, Amen.
